We enjoy meeting our clients in person to learn more about them and their expectations for the wedding day. However, we understand that busy schedules can make in-person meetings challenging. Many clients hire us without meeting us in person, and we can provide quick and thorough support through emails and phone calls. If you live outside of Chicago but would still like to connect with us, we can arrange a video meeting. We are flexible and committed to finding a method that works for you!โ
Our photographers are very skilled and we always have two photographers at the wedding. The second photographer is responsible for capturing the groom getting ready, all details, providing a second angle on the ceremony and reception, and assisting the lead photographer with off-camera lighting for creative portraits. We must ensure that every moment is captured, especially as weddings are unique occasions with unforeseen. If the wedding is especially large and demanding, with over 350 guests, we will also bring an assistant.
Engagement sessions are beneficial in several ways. For one, if we have them early, we can use the photos for Save the Date cards. Working with our photographer before the wedding day will make us feel more comfortable, and itโs like two hours of practice. If our wedding is not in the city and we really want some photos of the Chicago skyline and Riverwalk, engagement sessions are the perfect addition to our wedding day photos. Every wedding is different but typically we recommend arriving during the last hour of bride prep and staying at least one hour into open dancing. It is always best to have a consultation before deciding on coverage.
We will gladly travel to any destination. We can book our own airfare, hotel, and transportation to make it easier for you.
If you have your heart set on a certain location, it is your responsibility to check the requirements and pay applicable fees, if required. We can always help with suggestions, so please do not hesitate to ask.

Of course. We do request you to let us know at least a month before the wedding so that we can contact the Insurance Company in a timely manner.
If there are any specific shots you want, feel free to let us know. We work for you and want you to be happy with your images. You can always send us your Pinterest board of the images that you like, but itโs important that you trust us to capture your wedding in the best way we see fit. Every wedding is unique, and even if you wear the same outfit or book the same venue as someone before you, it doesnโt guarantee that you will have the same photos.
Number of the photos depends on wedding day coverage, number of guests, type of event, etc. Our average for an 8-hour wedding is around 600 images. Online galleries are posted within 4-6 weeks from the wedding date. Delivery time for the album is around 4-6 weeks after the final approval.
We do not put watermarks on our images. This allows you to print your images anywhere you want and we can also include a print release if you need one.
You can use your images in a personal capacity in any way that you like. Want to order prints? Create albums? Share with your friends? You can do it all! We will include print copyrights with your images. What you will not be able to do is sell them for money, license them for commercial use, or give permission to anyone else to do these things. WS Photography will maintain the ownership of copyrights to our images.
The images selected for editing and final delivery are very carefully chosen. We only delete doubles, eyes closed, flash did not fire, somebody walked in front of the lens, and blurry images. The images not selected arenโt archived and, therefore not available.
Once we receive your signed contract and retainer your date is fully reserved and all you have to do before that is contact us.

Yes, we always take posed family photos unless you prefer otherwise. We are dedicated to capturing these photos perfectly as we understand their importance to you, your parents, and your grandparents who will cherish and display them.
We use top-tier professional Canon equipment and have extensive backup systems. Iโll admit, I have a habit of collecting gear. While this helps me take amazing photos, itโs not great for my backโthe weight of all that equipment really adds up.

The retainer fee and all payments are non-refundable. The retainer ensures that I reserve the date solely for you. Once you sign the contract, I decline all other job offers for that date.
ALLEVIATE your FEARS
If you have an outdoor wedding, most of the venues provide a backup. The same goes for us. We will always make a backup plan when it comes to wedding party photos in locations. Certainly. Please provide at least two monthsโ notice before the wedding as our insurance company requires this time to process and provide the necessary documentation. You can have your venue or coordinator contact me so that we can efficiently handle the details. We are able to supply certificates tailored to meet the specific requirements of each venue.
